About Happy Cat

This Happy Cat is living on Koh Lanta, a small island in southern Thailand. I am enjoying my alternative lifestyle as I ease into retirement.

This blog is dedicated to staying positive, making good life choices and finding happiness in each and every day.

  1. I just read your article on “ sixty and me” about living in Thailand. We are looking for a place to spend our winters. This sounds perfect. Can you tell me how I go about finding a winter rental there? We live in Saskatchewan. We moved here so we could afford to travel in the winters. Last year was our first year and we went to Arizona ( baby steps). Not for us! Won’t be doing that again. Lol. Anyway any help you can give on how to achieve this, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks , Gerri

    1. Hi – Yes Koh Lanta is a great place to spend the winter. But to rent a place for the whole winter without knowing your way around may not be the best thing to do. As there are always lots of possibilities, I suggest you go and book for a week maximum. Then you can look around and find something. That way to get a place that suits you. Photos and other people telling you something is good, is not really the best way to go. Best to decide for yourself. For an inexpensive place, stay at Andaman Sunflower. It’s very reasonable, laid back and great value.

If you do go to Koh Lanta, let me know and we can meet.

      Take care and enjoy
